This is just a bit of shameless publicity. The documentary Cat Ladies is a featured story on BoingBoing, and my friend is the producer (I cannot link to the clip - but will try and get something up later). OK - it is screening in SF, and not many of us will get a chance to see it, but I think I am allowed to be proud of a friends work (more after jump).

Cat Ladies is a one hour verité documentary that unravels the real story behind the oft-ridiculed 'cat lady' - a cultural stereotype and figure of ridicule for women of a certain age with too many furry companions. Through the intimate portrait of four unique 'cat ladies' we create a sensitive and emotionally honest portrait of women whose lives and self-worth have become intractably linked to cats.

My friend used to be a code monkey - in fact I was working with one of her programs yesterday (OPTSWCH) - but escaped a few years ago into the world of documentary making.

Makes me think why I still code like a monkey!
